Worship Schedule

Everybody needs a Home

Our Ohana  (family) – We are a vibrant congregation that includes Kama’aina as well as many visitors to the island. We are known for welcoming newcomers (Malihini) and visitors and being an inclusive community. And we are eager to reach out to our culturally diverse local families here in Kona.

Whether conservative or liberal, traditional or progressive in our religious values, politics, or lifestyles, all are welcome here.

We are not called to agree; we are called to share the Lord’s Supper as one family.

Services in Person and via Zoom

Christ Church is holding regular services. Please join us in our historic church at 7:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Our worship is socially distanced and mask wearing is welcome. Our 10:00 a.m. service is also available over Zoom.

To join us on Sundays, click on the link below.  The link will begin to work about 10 minutes before the service. Feel free to stay for a few minutes after the service to participate in a “virtual coffee hour.”

If you have never used Zoom before, we suggest working ahead of time with a friend who is familiar with Zoom, so you aren’t trying to figure it out in the heat of the moment.

Indeed, we have a bad cable in our network, and that affects the Old Church building.
Nathan Smith and I plan to run a new permanent cable Saturday 23-Mar-2024, so hopefully it will be permanently fixed before Sunday.

Service Bulletins

Before attending a service via Zoom, it is useful to either print out a copy of the service bulletin, or perhaps load it on another device, so you can more easily follow along during worship.

Here you can download the PowerPoint presentation for the 2024 annual meeting (4-Feb-2024):

FELLOWSHIP

Aloha Hour

Following our services with refreshment provided by members on a rotating basis.

Pancake Breakfast

On the first Sunday of every month we gather together at one service, 10:00 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast cooked by volunteers. It allows the parishioners to see each other regularly even if they attend different services.

Malihini Aloha

A monthly weekday evening potluck held at members’ homes providing a comfortable environment to meet both new members and visitors as well as develop deeper friendships with other members in a casual setting.

We host other social events throughout the year that are open to the public. These have included Robert Burns night, Mardi Gras and Oktoberfest.

Of course fellowship is also found through the many opportunities for service and outreach.  In gathering to learn, to serve or to help others, the bonds of friendship grow stronger.

Labyrinth Walking Meditation

Our labyrinth is located just outside of the Queen Emma Community Center.

ORGAN DEDICATION
