The Reverend Carol Arney has been rector of Christ Church since Thanksgiving Day, 1997. She is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in Spanish, and a graduate of the School of Theology at Sewanee, Tennessee with a Master of Divinity Degree.

Carol's first love is sharing good times and fellowship with her congregation. Sunday is the highlight of her week, as it is a chance to share with the congregation in the joy of worship, followed by the coffee hour fellowship.

Just as important to Carol are the continuous special events throughout the year: Thanksgiving; the Queen Emma Evening Prayer and Hawaiian Poi Supper; making of Advent Wreaths; the Joyous Christmas Holidays; the Annual Meeting; Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday); Holy Week including Maundy Thursday; the Good Friday Liturgy; the Easter Egg coloring for the Children and the happy Easter Sunday; the Pentecost Birthday Party; Mid-Summer Picnic; Upcountry Faire; and the Pumpkin Carving Contest! These occasions binds the people together in a community that knows how to pray and play together.

Carol's interests extend beyond the Kona Coast, as she is a member of the Diocesan Standing Committe, the Formations commission and a Deputy to the 2006 General Convention.
